CW ID'er For Simplex IRLP Nodes PDF Print
Wednesday, 15 July 2009 10:56

Simplex IRLP nodes lack at least one thing to make them legal in most regions; a method of identifying themselves.  Now you can add an ID'er to your simplex IRLP Node in just a few easy steps.  Now supports Ubuntu 8.04LTS!

Get the ID'er here.  The installer script makes it even easier!  Please note that my CW ID'er does NOT support CentOS 5.  There are no plans to support it due to stability issues associated with IRLP and CentOS 5.  It is recommended to stay with CentOS 4 until the next major IRLP release.  If you have upgraded from CentOS 4 to 5 and had my ID'er previously installed when you backed up your node, it should continue to function on CentOS 5 until you make any modifications to the callsign script, which actually generates/plays the ID.  If you are trying to install my ID'er on a fresh CentOS 5 install that didn't have it previously installed from a backup, you will have to download the tar.gz archive, extract, and install it manually as per the documentation since the installer will not run on CentOS 5.  In either case, you will want to replace the original callsign script with this one:

You will also have to provide your own wav file.  This will allow you to continue to make full use of the capabilities of my ID'er on CentOS 5.  See the documentation for a complete list of features/capabilities.
